OUR STORY
1985
TLC Companies® was founded as the only Professional Employer Organization (PEO) in the United States dedicated exclusively to the trucking and transportation industry.
1994
Peoplease was founded in historic downtown Charleston, SC with a focus on providing cost-effective solutions for blue- and grey-collar businesses.
2008
Phil Martina formed Kymberly Group Payroll Solutions to offer Professional Employer Organization (PEO) and Strategic Outsourcing Services.
2010
Andy Mazzurco founded American Payroll and Benefits (APB), a Central Florida-based PEO brokerage company with a mission to provide unrivaled customer service.
2020
Peoplease acquired TLC Companies®.
2021
Peoplease acquired American Payroll and Benefits (APB) and Kymberly Group.

OUR LEADERSHIP
Mike Maseda
Mike Maseda is an accomplished senior executive with 20+ year of experience in the HR outsourcing and Professional Employer Organization (PEO) space. Most recently, Mike served a short stint as Executive Chairman at Congruity HR leading the way on strategic growth initiatives. Prior to that, Mike was the President and CEO of CoAdvantage, where he grew the company from a small regional player to a top 10 national competitor. Through that process the company executed on 7 acquisitions, drove significant organic growth and improved profitability. Prior to that, Mike was the President & CEO at Avisena, technology company that enables revenue cycle management and served as COO at ADP TotalSource.
Mike has a track record for transforming businesses and scaling platform companies by building high performing teams, leveraging technology and meeting customer needs. He has a Bachelor’s from the University of Miami and an MBA from Harvard.
Tanya Yakhnis
Tanya is a CPA with a degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is an active member of the board and Chair of Academic Relations for FEI Chicago and in the past has served on the NAPEO Accounting Practices Committee and Kohl Children’s Museum Development Board. She has also been recognized as one of the Chicago Crain’s 2019 Notable Women in Finance.
John Glomstad
John leads Information Technology for Peoplease, which includes partnering with the business and clients to deliver digital solutions that help clients do their work more efficiently in a scalable and secure manner. Prior to his time at Peoplease, John was the Vice President of IT at National Recoveries, Inc. & VicePresident of IT at United Health Group. He has a B.A. in Mathematics from the University of Minnesota Morris. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing and spending time with family & friends.
Amie Remington
Amie Remington serves as the Chief Legal Officer at Peoplease, where she oversees business, compliance, and employment-related matters.
Amie’s passion is employment law and all matters related to helping both businesses and employees become successful. Amie believes that much of litigation can be avoided when businesses treat their employees fairly, and when employees are able to engage in open communication and honest dialogue.
A Florida State fan, Amie graduated cum laude with a B.A. from FSU and with honors from the Florida State College of Law. Amie says that while graduating from the FSU College of Law was great, the best part about law school was meeting her husband, Scott. When she isn’t working, Amie can usually be found with Scott, their three kids and their very unruly puppy, Whistle.
Francine Baccarella
Francine serves as the SVP of Operations for Peoplease, responsible for leading the enterprise operations and management of Payroll, Implementation, and Benefits. Francine has over 26 years of leadership experience in the PEO industry for Client Services, Sales and Operations. She has held titles of VP Client Services Training & Development, President/GM, and COO for a few well known PEO’s in the industry.
Francine also previously owned a successful PEO consulting practice for two years, where she worked with private equity firms on mergers and acquisitions. Francine is a graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor’s in Communications for Business and minor in Business Management. She is a native resident of Tampa, FL where she resides with her two grown sons and immediate family. Francine enjoys cooking, going to Pilates and the beach, and tending to her herb garden.
Steven Casper
Steve has 20 years of B2B marketing and sales operations experience focused on developing multi-channel marketing and sales strategies, and efficient processes to drive growth, all with a strong emphasison the ROI. At Peoplease, Steve is focused on improving the way we use tools and technology to generate a more efficient and seamless product to our customers.
Prior to joining Peoplease, Steve was the Vice President – Marketing and Sales Operations for North America at FLEETCOR, a global provider of fuel and payment products and services. He was responsible for designing and implementing channel strategies with annual revenue targets exceeding $65M. Steve is a graduate of the University of Illinois, with an MBA in Marketing and International Business.
Sam Napoli
Sam is a senior sales executive with over 20 years of experience in the HR outsourcing and PEO industry. He has a proven track record of transforming businesses and scaling for growth by building high-performing teams.
Sam recently served as VP of Sales for Decent Healthcare. Prior to that, he spent 16 years at TriNet, holding various sales leadership positions, where he was instrumental in building key markets and leading the expansion of the blue/grey space.
Sam attended Rivier University, where he focused on Business Administration studies.
With his deep understanding of the PEO space, proven leadership abilities, and passion for building strong teams and leveraging technology, Sam is a sought-after executive known for delivering value to clients and providing innovative solutions.
Karla Racer
Karla is the Senior Vice President of Human Resources. With over 30 years comprehensive background in developing and executing HR strategies and processes, she is focused on advancing employee engagement and building a winning culture that supports our competitive advantage and contributes to sustainable, profitable business growth. She leads key business strategies that strengthen financial performance including talent management, change management, organizational and performance management with a focus on people and processes.
Prior to her time at Peoplease, Karla spent more than two decades in the manufacturing, banking, and financial space in various leadership roles, including a member of the executive team as SVP and Head of Human Resources for a private bank, where she was instrumental in transformational leadership, creating high-performance culture rich in talent and diversity, and leading HR and Centers of Excellence teams in support of worksite employees across North America. Karla was responsible for communications, front office operations, HR support services, talent management, organizational effectiveness, training, compensation, payroll, and benefits. Between her time in the banking and corporate financial arena, she owned her own consulting business helping with M&A, talent acquisition and change management.
She holds dual HR certifications, a Green Belt in Six Sigma with a degree in Business Administration. Karla is passionate about empowering her teams to achieve their full potential and strengthening an effective HR ecosystem.
Stu Churchill
With a career spanning nearly 30 years, Stu has management experience in every sector of the transportation industry including risk management, loss control, recruiting, safety, and human resources. As Senior Manager of Safety and Loss Control for Peoplease, he previously led a cadre of Regional Safety Managers with over 125 years of safety experience.
Stu has designed, implemented, and managed recruiting, safety, and risk programs for nearly every situation faced by trucking and logistics companies. He successfully improves the overall compliance of companies within multiple industries through mock audits employing his unrivaled knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and OSHA audits.
Stu holds safety consultant licenses in AR, MO, NY, PA and TX with DOT, Corporate Compliance, and SHRM certifications. He received his BA and MAHR at Ottawa University in Kansas.
Eric Lynn
Eric is the SVP & General Manager for Peoplease Transportation, focusing exclusively on the transportation sector. He is responsible for the strategic vision to drive organic growth while providing industry leading service levels to retain existing book of clients residing in traditional trucking, courier, middle mile and other logistical operations. Prior to joining Peoplease Eric was Regional Vice President for PeopleReady (A True Blue Inc Subsidiary) running a $150 MM P&L and supporting over 3,000 clients relying on essential contingent labor solutions. He has a BA in Marketing from the University of Kentucky & a MA in Global Management from Thunderbird University (an Arizona State University school).
Eric and his family of 3 children very much enjoy the Colorado lifestyle of hiking, skiing, kayaking and unmatched sunrises. When he isn’t enjoying the great outdoors, he’s probably at the gym, watching football, or reading a book.
Phil Martina
Phil began his journey in the HR field in 1995 with a regional staffing company. In 1999, he opened his first staffing company. By 2008, Phil leveraged his extensive knowledge and expertise to expand his services to other small business owners through Kymberly Group Payroll Solutions.
Phil is passionate about helping businesses thrive by providing strategic relief to HR departments. His business, Kymberly Group, specializes in outsourcing staffing, payroll, risk management, and HR support, aiming to reduce tax burdens, address government compliance issues, manage HR concerns, handle workers’ compensation, and manage payroll.
Understanding the challenges of owning a business, Phil is dedicated to helping fellow business owners focus on running and growing their businesses by taking employee-related issues off their plates.
Phil holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Florida Southern College. In his free time, he enjoys wake surfing on the lake with one of his seven children or attending their sporting events.
Andy Mazzurco
Andy has a lifetime of owning businesses in the construction, mortgage, real estate, and insurance industries, and it has given him the unique ability to see a client’s needs with a well-rounded view. He works to ensure the smooth operation of the organization and high-quality service to clients. He also develops and implements plans to drive growth, improve service quality, and enhance operational efficiency.
Andy enjoys traveling, boating fishing, and making the most of each opportunity – it isn’t just about the catch, it’s also the camaraderie. He cherishes his friends & family and creating memories that are the perfect blend of adventure, excitement, and relaxation.
